    Meet Dr Deepa Iyer

    Dr Deepa Iyer began medical training in India and continued with specialist General Medical training in the UK. Well-versed in Rehabilitation Medicine and Rheumatology, Deepa has completed extensive training in India, UK and Australia.

    Throughout her career, Dr Iyer has held various roles and positions, including working at the Robina Persistent Pain Centre and serving as the medical lead for the ReACH service (Rehabilitation Activity in the Community and Hospital) at Logan Hospital. Having worked in the state-wide services at the Princess Alexandra Hospital, she is able to help patients with brain and spinal cord injuries.

    Dr Iyer’s passion lies in providing exceptional medical care to patients in all areas of rehabilitation medicine, including neurological, musculoskeletal, brain injury, spinal cord injury, geriatric, peri-operative, chronic pain, general deconditioning, amputee, and prosthetic medicine.

    Deepa is proud to reflect on a number of her academic achievements to date:

    • Senior Lecturer at Griffith University
    • Adjunct Assistant Professor at Bond University
    • Author of two books designed for candidates taking the Membership of the Royal College of Physicians exam in the UK: Clinical Examination Skills for the MRCP exam (January 2013) and MRCP PACES: The Answers Revealed (November 2022)
    • Contributed to multiple papers in peer-reviewed journals
    • Actively involved in the education and training of medical students, junior doctors, nurses, and allied health professionals
