Epsom Salts
Epsom salts or magnesium sulphate salts are used with water as either packs or baths to draw from acute or chronically inflamed tissues. As baths they are used to relieve muscle aches and tightness and to detoxify the body. The baths should only be up to 20-30 minutes at a time done to 3-4 times maximum a week.

The packs are great for joint pain and muscle pain related to arthritic problems or after acute injuries. 2 tablespoons of Epsom salts should be added to one cup of cold water and diluted. A small towel is then soaked in the mixture and rang out. The moist towel is wrapped around the painful joint or muscle and then wrapped again with glad wrap to retain the moisture and warmth generated by the moist pack. This pack should be left on for at least 2 hours. After removing the pack, for best results, comfrey cream or arnica ointment should be massaged into the painful area.
