Meet Dr Alexander Balnionis
Alex graduated from medical school at the University of Sydney and completed his internship and residency in Newcastle NSW. He moved back to Melbourne in 2021 to work in Emergency Medicine and Intensive Care with The Alfred Hospital before pursuing his true calling in General Practice. Alex recently completed his Masters in Public Health with UNSW, as well as the Diploma of Tropical Medicine with the London School of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene in 2022.
Alex is excited to bring the skills he’s learnt from his hospital training to General Practice for the benefit of his patients, pursuing community focussed care and working towards long term, sustainable health outcomes with his patients. Specific medical interests include: youth mental health and travel medicine. Outside of seeing patients, Alex is a keen soccer fan and enjoys rock climbing in his spare time, as well as looking after a spoilt miniature schnauzer named Louie.
