Meet Dr Mia Yu
Dr Yu is currently undertaking the Australian General Practice Training Program to obtain the Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. She earned her Doctor of Medicine and Bachelor of Medical Studies from the University of New South Wales.
Following graduation, she completed her internship and residency within the Hunter New England Local Health District, gaining experience across various subspecialties in adult medicine, surgery, and psychiatry. She subsequently pursued further training in general surgery and critical care medicine in Sydney and Newcastle. Prior to joining the GP training program, Dr Yu worked in both private and public hospitals across Sydney, regional NSW, and Canberra, broadening her expertise in medicine.
Dr Yu also has a strong interest in teaching and was accredited as a Conjoint Teaching Fellow by the University of Newcastle. Beyond her clinical work, she has been actively involved in medical research, with multiple publications and presentations at prestigious conferences.
In her spare time, Dr Yu enjoys travelling and spending time with her family. She is available for consultations in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin.
