Dr Piyankarie Jayatilaka (PJ) graduated Medicine from Griffith University, Gold Coast in 2019. Prior to medicine she had a career in research and completed a PhD in Evolution, Ecology and Genetics at the Australian National University in Canberra.

Her hospital experience as a medical registrar includes time spent at Gold Coast University Hospital as well as multiple other regional and rural hospitals in Tasmania, Canberra, Northern Queensland and Mid North Coast New South Wales.

She is passionate about chronic disease management and preventative health care in the community/primary care setting.

Outside of work, she loves to spend time with family & friends and loves swimming and Pilates.
