Dr Sim Yee Ong is an experienced consultant Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist in managing liver diseases and general gastroenterology conditions including iron deficiency anaemia, gastro-oesophageal reflux disease, H.pylori infection, gastric intestinal metaplasia surveillance, functional gut etc. She participates actively in the national bowel screening programme and performs both quality gastroscopy and colonoscopy. She is approachable, patient and believes in good communication with her patients. Dr Ong currently holds a senior medical appointment at Eastern Health. She was previously awarded the prestigious NHMRC scholarship and had completed her PhD through the University of Melbourne, studying the effects of treatment for haemochromatosis patients with moderately elevated iron levels. Additionally, she speaks fluent Mandarin and Cantonese. In her free time, she enjoys listening to music and spends time with her two children.
