Meet Emily Yang
Dr Guoyan (Emily) Yang is a Tai Chi instructor with 20 years of teaching experience. Her teaching style is evidence-based, holistic, and person-centred, individualised.
Her Tai Chi journey began in high school and deepened during her 8-year studies at the
Beijing University of Chinese Medicine, where she earned both a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Medicine degree. She trained under esteemed Chen-style Tai Chi masters, including Grandmaster Tian Qiutian and Master Zhang Peijun, and continues to refine her practice through annual study trips to China.
Emily is a Managing Committee member of the Tai Chi Association of Australia and serves as President of the Boyuan Tai Chi for Health Association. A passionate advocate for community wellbeing, she has delivered over 40 health talks and workshops and is frequently invited to run Tai Chi sessions at community events.
In addition, Dr Yang is an adjunct Research Fellow at the NICM Health Research Institute, Western Sydney University. Her research focuses on how Tai Chi and other integrative medicine approaches can support the prevention and management of chronic health conditions, including heart disease, cognitive decline, cancer, and mental health challenges. Her work has been recognised with multiple awards at national and international academic conferences.

Tai Chi group class - Wednesday 9.00am - 10.00am, $35/person/session; Friday 9.00am - 10.00am, $35/person/session.
