Dr Ashleigh Thornton

Dr Ashleigh Thornton is a GP Registrar who graduated in Medicine from the Australian National University in 2022. She has gained broad experience across Westmead Hospital and Auburn Hospital and most recently worked as a Senior Resident Medical Officer in the Emergency Department at Sutherland Hospital. 

Ashleigh takes a holistic, patient-centred approach to care and places strong emphasis on building trusted, long-term relationships with her patients. She values the breadth of general practice and has particular interests in chronic disease management, women's health and mental wellbeing, with a focus on shared decision-making and personalised care. 

Outside of medicine, Ashleigh enjoys spending time outdoors and can often be found running, campaign or heading to the snow. These interests reflect her strong belief in balance, physical activity and overall well-being. 

Ashleigh committed to ongoing professional development and works closely with her supervising GPs and the broader healthcare team to deliver high-quality, compassionate care to the local community.
