Dr Liam Back

Dr Liam Back is an Interventional Cardiologist based in Sydney. He completed his medical school training at the University of Newcastle / New England in 2012, obtaining a Bachelor of Medicine with Distinction. Dr Back completed his cardiology advanced training at the Prince of Wales Hospital in Randwick before subsequently travelling to the United Kingdom to complete two fellowships in complex interventional cardiology; the first at the University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff, Wales, and the second at Glenfield Hospital, Leicester, England. Dr Back has a strong interest in clinical research, completing his Master of Clinical Trials Research at the University College London in 2024.

Dr Back is passionate about the treatment of atherosclerotic coronary disease including a strong focus on primary preventative therapy, novel lipid lowering agents and obesity management. He enjoys the assessment and management of all common cardiac complaints including chest pain, dyspnoea, dizziness and palpitations.
