Dr Salma Dastagir (MBBS, MRCGP, DFSRH) is a UK-trained General Practitioner with more than a decade of medical experience. After graduating in medicine in 2013, she worked across a variety of hospital and community settings before completing her specialist GP training in the United Kingdom.
Women’s health has remained an important focus throughout Salma’s career. Prior to General Practice, she gained extensive experience in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in both Bangladesh and the UK. She later completed the Diploma of the Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare (DFSRH), further developing her expertise in women’s health. Her particular interests include contraception, sexual and reproductive health, menopause care, and hormonal and copper IUD (coil) insertion and removal.
Salma also enjoys the broad scope of General Practice and caring for patients throughout different stages of life. Her experience across general medicine enables her to manage a wide variety of acute and chronic health conditions, with a particular interest in preventive healthcare.
Her approach is holistic and patient centred. Salma takes time to understand each patient’s concerns and involves them in decisions about their care. She particularly values continuity of care and developing long term relationships with her patients.
Outside medicine, Salma enjoys travelling, exploring new places and spending time with her husband and two children
