Meet Dr Ying Shi Zhou
Dr Ying Shi Zhou is a Fellow of Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. She obtained her medical degree at The University of Newcastle and has worked at Concord, Canterbury, Broken Hill, Royal Prince Alfred and Eastern Suburbs Private Hospitals. She completed her general practice specialty training in various parts of greater Sydney. She also has a Diploma of Child Health through The University of Sydney and is an accredited provider of antenatal shared care with Royal Prince Alfred Hospital and Royal North Shore Hospital.
Dr Ying Shi Zhou worked part time at Family Planning NSW Centres for almost a decade and has obtained the FPAA National Certificate for Reproductive and Sexual Health. She has a special interest and is experienced in all areas of reproductive & sexual health including; Implanon insertions/removals, intrauterine device (IUD) insertions/removals, cervical screening (pap tests), contraception, pregnancy & breastfeeding advice and care, subfertility/infertility, menstrual problems, breast screening and examination, menopause management, testing for sexually transmitted diseases and sexual health issues.
Dr Zhou has broad experience in medicine and values the holistic care that general practice can bring to individuals. She also enjoys teaching and supporting the next generation of GPs and has been an accredited supervisor of GP registrars for numerous years.
Dr Zhou can speak Cantonese fluently. She is a mum to 2 children, lives in a multigenerational house and in her spare time she loves to be in the great outdoors, reading, travelling and has a passion for the arts.
