Meet Dr Amala Jayasuriya
Dr Amala has achieved Recognition of Extended Skills (RES) Integrative Medicine from the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) and Fellowship from the Australasian College of Nutritional and Environmental Medicine (ACNEM). She has been a Fellow of The Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) from 2007 and has over 25 years’ experience in General Practice.
Integrative Medicine consults seek to find the root cause of chronic disease, taking a more holistic approach to treatment rather than medicating symptoms. Using personalised care after a comprehensive assessment of your physical and emotional health, a management plan is formulated that educates and empowers you to stay healthy.
Dr Amala is passionate to use Integrative Medicine for prevention and early management of chronic disease especially in metabolic health. She empowers the patient to use the body’s natural healing mechanisms through Lifestyle Medicine interventions first rather than medications alone.
She has special interest in prevention and early management of Type 2 Diabetes/prediabetes, cardiovascular risk, fatty liver and PCOS through weight loss and reversal of insulin resistance with Integrative Medicine.
