Important Update to Weekend Billing Policy – Effective 1st June 2025
Starting from 1st June 2025, all weekend appointments will incur a weekend gap fee, including for concession/pension card holders and children, who are currently bulk billed.

Who is eligible for a free flu vaccination?
Flu vaccines are provided free of charge under the National Immunisation Program for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people aged six months and over, children aged six months to under five years, pregnant women at any stage of pregnancy, adults aged 65 years and over, and people aged six months and over with medical conditions that put them at higher risk of serious illness. Consult with your Myhealth GP to confirm your eligibility and learn more about what’s available in your area.
When should I get my flu vaccination?
To give the vaccine time to take effect, it’s best to get your flu shot as early as possible. Getting vaccinated early helps ensure you’re protected throughout the peak of flu season. Don’t wait, book your appointment today.

Fees
Myhealth Redfern is a mixed billing practice. We provide bulk billed appointments for eligible patients. Appointments for other medicare and non-medicare card holders will attract private gap fees.
Bulk billing is available for the following groups who hold a valid medicare card:
- Under 16 years of age
- Pension card holders
- Health Care Card holders (HCC)
- Veteran's affairs (DVA) Card holders
- Chronic Disease Management plan (Care plan) consultations.
For Medicare Card holders who do not fall into the above categories and for those who have Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) and Overseas Visitor Health Cover (OVHC), an out of pocket costs (gap) will apply to all standard consultations, including telephone/telehealth appointments.
Walk-in patients: If there are no available appointments an additional gap of $20 applies.
Non-Attendance / Cancellation Policy
For non-attendance, there will be no charge for the first instance, but the patient will be kindly reminded of the policy. A warning will be issued for the second instance, and a $60 charge will apply for the third. Please note that no further appointments can be booked until the fee is settled.
For GP appointments, a minimum of 2 hours' notice is required for cancellations, and 24 hours' notice is required for psychology appointments. If the required notice is not provided, the full fee of $215 will be charged.
Cardiologist Cancellation Fee: A 24-hour notice is required for cancellations; otherwise, the patient will be charged a $50 non-attendance fee.

Are you a bulk billing clinic?
We are a Mixed Billing clinic offering consultations Monday to Saturday. Bulk billing is available if you are under 16 years old, have a Healthcare Card or a Pensioner's Card. Fees are payable on the day after your consultation.

How will the fee be processed?
You will be charged the full amount of consultation fee to your credit or debit card at the end of your consultation. We then, process your Medicare Rebate on behalf of you electronically. The rebate should appear in your bank account within 1-2 business days, but if you do bring your physical debit card, you will be able to get the rebate back instantly.

Do I need an appointment to get my results?
If the results are normal or non-urgent, you will receive a text to book a non-urgent appointment. If something unusual has come back, you will receive a call from either the doctor or reception to book an appointment. You can request your results once you have reviewed them with a doctor.
