Pricing/Fees
There is a $35 gap on general consultations (including telehealth) if you are aged 16 and over and you DON’T have a health care card or pension card (except weekends see below). Patients under 16 without medicare will incur a $15 gap fee. This doesn’t include appointments for COVID/Flu vaccines.
The following patients will continue to be bulk-billed to Medicare for general consultations with no gap fee on the WEEKDAYS:
- Patients under 16
- Patients with health care or pension cards
- Appointments for COVID/Flu vaccines
The following patients will continue to be bulk-billed to Medicare for general consultations with no gap fee on the WEEKENDS:
- Appointments for COVID/Flu vaccines
We are very committed to providing high quality care to our patients and community. The reason for the introduction of a gap fee for some patients, is the rising costs of running a general practice and the reluctance of the government in funding these higher costs.
Non-Attendance / Cancellation Policy
Please note that if you do not attend your appointment and fail to notify reception at least 1 hour prior to the scheduled time, a non-attendance will be recorded in your file. After two missed appointments, a $50 non-attendance fee will apply. This fee must be paid before any future appointments can be booked with a practitioner.

FAQs
Everything you need to know about Meadowbank Medical Centre
-
Can I just call for a script or referral?
No, all requests for scripts or referrals require an appointment with a GP. This is the standard practice at Myhealth Meadowbank.
-
My GP is always running late, why do I have to book an appointment?
While waiting for a scheduled appointment time can be frustrating, the clinic has limited control over the duration of each patient's consultation. Patients are encouraged to book longer appointments if they have multiple issues or mental health concerns. You can call reception on the day of your appointment for updates on the GP's schedule to potentially reduce waiting times.
-
If my appointment is quick/following up results do I still need to pay the gap fee?
Yes, Myhealth Meadowbank operates as a mixed billing clinic. Gap fees apply to all consultations that do not meet the bulk billing criteria, regardless of the nature of the consultation. Each appointment slot is allocated specific time in the doctor's schedule.
-
If there's no available appointments online can I still call and get an appointment?
Unfortunately, GPs at Myhealth Meadowbank do not accept walk-ins. You can call reception to be placed on a cancellation list. If you have an urgent issue, the nursing team can assess if emergency care is necessary.
-
Can I fit my family member into my appointment?
No, each patient must have their own allocated appointment slot. Even quick consultations require mandatory checks and patient notes, which can delay subsequent appointments if multiple patients are seen at once.
-
Can I do a telehealth appointment for a Medical Certificate?
No, medical or clearance certificates cannot be issued over the phone at Myhealth Meadowbank. A face-to-face appointment is required, and the patient must be present for the GP to issue these certificates.
